A Plan For THE VISION
Shepherd of
the Hills will
be a light on the hill, a place of
spiritual
renewal where God’s
love and grace are felt and
shared. STRATEGIC
DIRECTIONS The
congregation and
Community of Shepherd of
the Hills
Lutheran Church will: • Share
God’s Word with the
community and the world; touching those
in need through direct mission activity such as Habitat for Humanity,
Paz de
Cristo, the Navajo Mission, and growing in faith and numerically. •
Create
a healthy and outreaching Christian community, embracing our diversity
and our
differences, listening, understanding and following through with
actions and
love. •
Offer
joyful worship experiences in a variety of styles, settings and time
frames
with strong preaching, worship leadership and exciting music. We will nurture and encourage worship
involvement for all ages using a variety of art forms. •
Practice
high-involvement, visionary and focused leadership for the congregation: setting priorities, empowering volunteers,
exercising responsible financial stewardship, managing capital needs,
and
committed to open and effective communication. •
Provide
opportunities for spiritual renewal and development, utilizing programs
such as
Cursillo, Alpha, Tirosh, Our Father’s House, youth and adult education,
small
groups, vigils and special services, that will guide and encourage
individual
journeys. • Plan for growth through effective staffing and utilization of the talents, gifts and skills of the church family. |
